Packet will perform backbone network upgrades in our Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS1) facility during the following (2) windows:
Wednesday, April 17, 2019, between 06:00 - 08:00 UTC Thursday, April 18, 2019, between 06:00 - 08:00 UTC
During this window, we will be installing new backbone router and distribution switching hardware, in support of current and anticipated network traffic in the region. We will also migrate some of our peering and backbone capacity over to a new router in the datacenter, with support for greater 100G provider connectivity.
We do not foresee any service level impact, given the redundant backbone and provider connectivity deployed in these sites, however, we are issuing this notice out of an abundance of caution. Customers may see Internet and inter-datacenter traffic routed over different paths during this work; in addition, anycast BGP and Global IP customers may see traffic preferring other Packet datacenter locations throughout the change window. This work will be fully scripted and monitored at every stage by both our Datacenter and Network teams.
