Hi Packet Customers,

Our datacenter partner at DFW2 has advised us that they will be performing power work in their facility December 12th from 2019-12-12 00:00:00 UTC (2019-12-11 18:00 CST) to 2019-12-12 12:00:00 UTC (2019-12-12 06:00 CST) - a 12 hour maintenance. This is a normal, scheduled maintenance by our data center partner.

In preparation for this event, we are re-cabling the switches that provide command and control access to your servers to different circuits that will provide reliable power for the duration of the event during a maintenance window of our own, beginning at 2019-12-08 08:00 UTC (2019-12-08 02:00 CST). The switches that provide data flow to and from the Internet are out of scope for this maintenance. Normal operations and connectivity to the Internet should be expected. In other words, your servers and the applications running on them will continue to operate normally.

The switches impacted by this maintenance are part of the “command and control” of the Packet platform. While your servers will continue to operate normally, the core services of the Packet platform will be off line for 20-30 minutes while this routine maintenance is being performed. This means services such as installing an operating system, power cycling, serial console access, or any other activity provided through our portal or API will be impacted.

If your inability to resume normal operations persists for more than 30 minutes, please open a ticket with us so that we may investigate.

Please reach out to support@packet.com if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Team @Packet
